It isn’t uncommon to get pests in your home. Pests usually enter your home due to moisture, food, or shelter. If these three factors are present in your home, the more likely bugs are to move into it. The tough thing about having pests in your home is that you aren’t likely to notice them until there’s already an infestation. It is important to note that when it comes to pests, prevention is better than cure.
Pests have the same needs as you do. So in the event that their food or homes are displaced, they look for places where they can stay that meet their needs. When the weather grows cold or rainy, pests can easily squeeze through small holes in your home or grow families in your garage. Pests, such as rodents, are also able to live on as little as the crumbs that you’ve left on your countertop for months. Water bowls laying around or the drips from a leaky faucet can also sustain pests for long periods of time.
The first step to pest control is to remove sources of food, water, and shelter. Make sure to properly store your food and to properly clean your house of any food crumbs. It is also important to avoid accumulating water in your home. Make sure to keep your house clutter-free as too much clutter, such as stacks of magazines or cardboard can serve as breeding grounds for pests. Make sure your house is well sealed so that there aren’t any areas where pests can enter. Lastly, make sure to check packages or boxes before putting them in your home.
When you do find yourself with an infested home, it’s better to just hire certified and licensed technicians who have been trained to handle such situations. You may try some DIY solutions, however, these only provide temporary solutions and do not really fix the root of the problem.
Queen ants are capable of laying up to 800 eggs per day and can live for decades. Meanwhile, ants can leave a trail for other ants to follow and they can have a lot of satellite colonies nearby. This means that if one ant enters your home, many more can follow. At the same time, it also isn’t enough to get rid of just one ant colony. This is why having expert exterminators visit your home for an inspection is important if you really want to get rid of the ants in your home.
Ant infestation tends to happen quite fast and can be quite hard to kill. They are social creatures and have different jobs in their colony. Some forage for food, some build nests, and care for the young. There are also swarmer ants which are ants that have wings, these kinds of ants are made to spread out to create new colonies in other areas.
To get rid of ants, it is important to know which kinds of ants you are dealing with. Some ants can be controlled using baits while others can’t. In order to properly get rid of them, our exterminators need to figure out where the ant colony is and they need to treat that colony directly. Our exterminators will also be giving you specific instructions on how to prevent them from infesting your home again.
Having rodents in your home is very dangerous as they are capable of spreading and carrying diseases and chewing through your house structure. It is very difficult to personally control rodent infestations as these are larger creatures with specific attitudes. If you see a rat, it might be that the infestation in your home is already quite severe.
There are five main signs of a rodent infestation. First, you will see mouse or rat droppings which are small and dark. You can easily find them in your cupboards. Second, you may see some small bite marks or damages to either your furniture or to the snacks you have at home. Third, since rats do not have good eyesight they usually run through exposed paths, and their fur covered in grease will leave smudge marks on the wall. Fourth, you can hear unusual noises in your walls or ceilings. Fifth, you find an actual dead or alive rat. If you suspect that you have rodents in your home, make sure to call an experienced pest control company to get rid of them for you.
If you need rodent control services, our team can inspect your home and look for the five main signs of rodent infestation. Once we’ve figured out what we’re dealing with, we will be choosing the best treatment for the situation. We may have to look for the rodents’ entry points. We will then proceed to seal any holes in your property. Landscaping is also recommended, such as clearing bushes, decluttering bins, dumpsters, and other possible breeding grounds. We then move on to other treatment methods that include either chemical or mechanical solutions such as traps and baits to handle the rest of your rodent problem.
There has been a resurgence of bed bugs in recent years. They are now considered to be extremely common household pests especially since they have grown quite immune to some DIY treatments. Just like other pests, by the time you have noticed that you might have bed bugs in your home they are likely to have spread much further than you think. Bed bugs do not just exist in your bed, they can also be found in picture frames, behind outlets, in baseboards, and in other areas of your home. It is important to call professional pest eradicators to properly solve your bed bug problems.
Bed bugs prefer temperatures within 65 degrees to 85 degrees. They usually hide in bedsheets, mattresses, and blankets. They may also hide in stuffed animals, school buses, airplanes, light bulbs, and even bags and purses. Here are a few signs of a bed bug infestation. First, there may be blood stains on your bedding. Second, you may notice dark spots of bedbug waste on your sheets or mattresses. Third, you may notice an offensive or musty odor in your room. Lastly, you may notice some red spots or bed bug bites around your body.
Some treatments for bed bug infestations include liquid treatments, heat treatments, preventive treatments, and canine inspections. Liquid treatments are applied to your furniture and around your home and have no impact on humans and pets. They are mostly applied to cracks where bed bugs may hide or inside baseboards and other furniture. Heat treatment is done by raising the temperature of the entire room to above 90 degrees for more than an hour and thirty minutes. With this temperature and time period, it is impossible for bed bugs to survive. Canines can also be used to track down bed bugs wherever they may be hiding which allows us to treat your homes more effectively. For preventive measures, there are specific specialty mattresses that prevent future bed bug infestations.
As bed bugs are hard to find and require very specific treatments to get rid of, it is important to get professional help from pest control services to effectively and safely solve your infestation problems.
